Legendary country duo Brooks & Dunn gave the first single of their career a revitalizing shot in the arm at the 54th ACM Awards. Sharing the stage with superstar-in-the-making Luke Combs, the hit makers blasted through a fresh version of “Brand New Man.”

Already hailed as the most awarded duo in ACM history – and now enjoying the title of Country Music Hall of Fame inductees – the team of Kix Brooks and Ronnie Dunn still apparently have a little left to prove. With Combs by their side, the high-octane remake of “Brand New Man” felt like a brand new track.

Throughout the performance, Combs stalked center stage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena – with red solo cup firmly in hand – trading verses with Dunn and totally holding his own alongside the iconic vocalist. The new version took on a more muscular sound than its original, with the whole audience on its feet and artists like Big & Rich’s Big Kenny taking cell phone videos and others like folk-rock star Brandi Carlile singing along at top of their lungs.

Brooks & Dunn’s “Brand New Man” featuring Luke Combs is featured on the duo’s just-released Reboot album, which features a long list of all-star collaborations on some of country’s all-time favorite songs.

The 2019 ACM Awards, hosted by Reba McEntire, are airing live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas tonight on CBS.
