The 2020 C2C Country to Country Festival, scheduled to take place this weekend (March 13-15), has been canceled. The news to cancel this year’s three-day festival comes just hours after President Trump issued a travel ban from the United States to Europe.

C2C Dublin was the first to cancel after concert promoter MCD announced that beginning today, March 12, through March 29, all events that gather groups of 100 people or larger would be canceled or postponed. Their statement reads in full below:

“Effective Immediately from 1800hrs today 12 March 2020

“Covid-19 Government Directive issued to cancel all public events until Sunday 29 March of a capacity of 100 people and over.

“Following today’s (12 March 2020) Irish Government directive to cancel all events of over 100 capacity (indoor) and 500 capacity (outdoor) due to take place between now and 29 March MCD Productions has now postponed all affected shows.

MCD Productions is currently working with artists and venues to reschedule all dates.

“Original tickets purchased for all affected events will remain valid for rescheduled dates which will be notified to patrons on confirmation.

Shortly after MCD’s announcement went out, the C2C Festival in London revealed that Thursday night’s (3/12) Songwriter Series would be canceled.

“Due to travel restrictions announced overnight, we regret to announce that this evening’s CMA Songwriters Series show at Indigo at The O2 has been cancelled. A refund will be automatically processed to the card used to purchase your tickets.”

As of publication of this article, C2C London and C2C Glasgow had not revealed whether or not the rest of the festival would be canceled.

On Wednesday (3/11), President Trump issued a travel ban to and from Europe, excluding the United Kingdom.

“To keep new cases from entering our shores, we will be suspending all travel from Europe to the United States for the next 30 days,” he said in an address from the Oval Office. “The European Union failed to take the same precautions and restrict travel from China and other hot spots. As a result a large number of new clusters in the United States were seeded by travel.”

Other festival cancellations and postponements from the coronavirus include Stagecoach, Coachella and the Houston Rodeo, among others.
