Cam is one of those country artists that absolutely loves connecting with fans, especially through the help of social media. Through her handles on platforms like Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, Cam is always taking the time out of her busy schedule to talk to those who have been supporting her throughout her rising music career.

In a recent Facebook Live event she streamed on her profile, Cam told her fans to send in questions that they were dying to ask her. From a multitude of questions about her music and personality, there was one in particular that stood out to Cam.

Getting asked who she was inspired by, the “Mayday” singer had a few individuals in mind that didn’t exactly fit her country mold. Nevertheless, Cam created quite the list of those she looks up to in all situations, some of which her fans never would have guessed.

“My greatest inspiration, it kind of changes because I grew up not really thinking I would be a musician, so when I was in fourth grade I was obsessed with Sandra Day O’Connor, because she was the first women Supreme Court Justice, and I thought that was the coolest thing in the whole world, and I wanted to be that, and then when I got into psychology I had a couple different inspirations, and now that I’m in music…it’s just a mix of all different people that you see that you like pieces of them,” she explained.

Now that she has claimed music as her career, she also had some influences stemming from the creative side to her as well.

“I love Saint Vincent and I love what she does on guitar and how cool she is, and I love listening to Ray Charles, and I love Patsy Cline’s voice and that heartbreak in her voice,” she said.

Cam is currently out on the road for the summer until the beginning of fall, with dates all across the country. Fans can see her exact tour dates on her website HERE.
