Cam Talks ‘Burning House,’ Teases New Music Video

CAM

Country newcomer Cam is blazing up the charts with her latest single, “Burning House.” The song is Cam’s second single and is featured on her debut EP, Welcome to Cam Country.

Cam co-wrote the passionate tune with two of her close friends, and admits it was a bit tough to write because it conveyed such raw and real emotions about a relationship that ended badly.

“The writing of ‘Burning House’ was difficult for sure because it was such a big dream and it was such a emotional thing,” Cam confesses. “Sometimes that’s hard to unpack by yourself, and if you have great co-writers who you trust, which I had Tyler Johnson and Jeff Bhasker who, one is one of my best friends and one is a mentor and a GRAMMY-winning (laughs) songwriter. If anyone could help me pull this off, it was the two of them, and they did such a great job of keeping true to what the story was about and my experience and just helping me craft a song that was going to fully and really, you know, manifest my story.”

Cam shot the “Burning House” music video earlier this month, and while she can’t give too many away just yet, she offers a bit of what fans can expect.

“The hint is…there’s obviously gonna be fire,” she says with a laugh. “And there’s a really beautiful dress involved. I mean, there’s just such a clear story that’s getting told in the song that we get to be a little more artistic. There’s a lot of emotion, but it’s kind of abstract, and I think it’s hopefully gonna be a tearjerker like the song is.”
