The clip features Smith doing anything a typical country boy would enjoy, which includes driving trucks and ATVs around the forest, chopping wood and even enjoying some whisky by the campfire. Paired with the rowdy, anthemic vibe of “Country Boy Things,” the video establishes itself as a tribute to working hard and enjoying life.
With the help of director Thomas Henley, Smith shot the project in the woods that happened to be owned by Florida Georgia Line’s Brian Kelley, who co-wrote the track with Jaren Johnston of The Cadillac Three and Corey Crowder.
“I wanted to get out in the woods on this one – my kind of woods – which turns out, are Brian Kelley’s woods. When he offered up his property for the video, I knew it was gonna be special,” the Indiana native said. “I wanted to capture the essence of a day well spent. That was the most hands-on I’ve been with a video so far, and I’m glad it’s time to show it.”
