Country superstar Carrie Underwood is set to release an album of gospel hymns, and fans won’t have long to wait to hear it. She’ll unveil My Savior on March 26.

A full-length studio album filled with covers of her favorite inspirational music, Underwood first announced the project with a message to fans on social media Christmas day. Newly revealed details include the album’s co-producer, David Garcia, who also co-produced Underwood’s chart topping Cry Pretty in 2018, and her thoughts on the project’s worship-based content.

Speaking in a video trailer for My Savior, the hit maker notes she chose songs that were familiar from her upbringing in the Christian church. It features footage of Underwood and her team recording the project in the studio, along with childhood photos which illustrate the lifetime of love she holds for heavenly track list. “The songs on this album are literally songs that I’ve heard from birth,” Underwood explains.

Along with the digital and CD release on March 26, vinyl copies of My Savior will be available starting April 30 — just before Easter — and Carrie Underwood counts the project as a companion piece to her first-ever Christmas album, My Gift, which was released in the fall of 2020.

“It’s been such a blessing to make music like this, inspirational music that is near and dear to my heart,” she says in a press statement. “These two albums have been on my musical bucket list since the beginning of my career and were planned long before the events of the past year, but somehow it feels like the perfect time to share these beloved songs with the world.”

My Gift was released in September and debuted at Number One across multiple charts worldwide, including the Billboard Country, Christian and Holiday charts. It topped the Billboard Country Albums chart for six weeks in total, and was also the best-selling album for 2020 in all genres at Amazon.
