Carrie Underwood Announces New Single, New Album

It’s the news that Carrie Underwood fans have all been waiting for — NEW MUSIC!

The singer revealed on Monday that she was going to make a big announcement this afternoon, and boy did she deliver!

After starting her video message by thanking fans for their support over the last 10 years, the superstar went on to reveal that she is releasing a new single called “Smoke Break.” Written by Underwood, Hillary Lindsey and Chris DeStefano, and produced by Jay Joyce, the song has a message that Underwood thinks is very relatable.

“It’s one of those story songs that I feel like everybody can relate to about how life is so hectic and it’s so nice when, if and when, you actually get to kind of step away for a second,” she shared. “We all need that time to ourselves to get to take a break.”

“Smoke Break” is the first single from the Oklahoma native’s upcoming album, Storyteller. The album will be available on Friday, Oct. 23. The album includes tracks produced by Jay Joyce, Mark Bright, and Zach Crowell.
