Carrie Underwood On Brad Paisley: ‘I Couldn’t Ask For a Better Co-Host’

With the “The 48th Annual CMA Awards” upon us, Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley have been busy preparing for their seventh consecutive year of co-hosting the show. For Underwood, it seems like she and the “Perfect Storm” singer just began their hosting gig.

“It is so hard to believe that this’ll be the seventh year of me and Brad hosting the CMA Awards,” she admits. “I mean, I remember, like, getting the phone call the first year and bein’ like, ‘They want me to do what now?! With Brad? What?’”

It’s clear that the superstars have become great friends on and off stage, which has brought great chemistry and humor to the show. “I couldn’t ask for a better co-host in Brad. I’ve known him for a really long time, and I feel like we’ve definitely got a groove on stage. And it’s so much fun kind of being at the helm of it all, and being kind of the captains of the country music awards show ship. You know, we have a lot of fun in the weeks leading up to it, and we get to look back on it and laugh at ourselves and hopefully say, ‘Wow, that was a really great night.’”

“The 48th Annual CMA Awards” will air live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on Wednesday, Nov. 5 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on the ABC Television Network.
