Carrie Underwood had a heart-melting surprise for fans at her Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency on Saturday night (March 26). Along with her show’s mind-boggling stage and some incredible wardrobe changes, she invited out a special guest: her mom, Carole.

Teaming up for a wholesome mother-daughter duet, the Underwood ladies turned the Resorts World Theater into something closer to their Oklahoma living room on “All-American Girl.”

Decked out in a royal purple gown, and looking like a futuristic princess in six inch pumps, the country superstar dwarfed her mother when Carole came out onstage — but it was mom who stole the show. Wearing a simple floral-print blouse and khaki slacks, she first welcomed the crowd in true mom style … then the pair delivered a laugh-filled singalong of Underwood’s high-flying 2007.

“I’m so happy you’re here and I hope you enjoy the show!” Carole told the crowd, smiling from ear to ear.

Underwood has often spoken of how close she remains to her mom … and also about the fact that Carole helped but Carrie on her country star career path. Following the show, Underwood posted an endearing message about her mom on Instagram, crediting Carole with making sure Carrie followed her dreams.

“‘If you wanna go, I’ll take you.’ These might have been the most pivotal words anyone has ever spoken to me,” Underwood wrote. “I was busy talking myself out of trying out for American Idol and my mom said these words…the rest is history. Tonight, I got to sing with her on stage in front of the most incredible crowd in #LasVegas ❤️ Life sure is amazing! Thanks, Mom, for everything.”

Carrie Underwood’s Reflection: The Las Vegas Residency will continue with more shows March 30 – April 2, and then again May 13 – 21.
