“The journey of writing and recording this album started last year when I finished my tour and we could have never anticipated the circumstances we would be in this year,” Underwood says in a press statement. “Creating this album has been good for my heart, and I’m thrilled to get to share it with the world and to bring it to life with Playtone and HBO Max.”

Meanwhile, Underwood has been diving deeper into the making of My Gift with a series of media hits, including a spot on NBC News’ TODAY and in the in the latest episode of Circle All Access Minute, explaining that a little Christmas joy is just what 2020 needs. “I’ve never been lucky enough to get to do an entire [Christmas] album, and this just seems like the year,” she says. “I’m so proud of the music that we were able to create, but, also, we were able to create it this year, through all the obstacles. We just want to bring some Christmas joy to people, so I’m super excited.”
