Carrie Underwood appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last week, breaking a sweat in honor of her debut as a book author.

Taking a seat on Fallon’s TV couch, the first order of business actually had nothing to do with getting healthy — unless you count Underwood’s healthy obsession with ’80s rock. She tells her host all about how she ditched her family to go see Guns ‘n’ Roses in Las Vegas when her last tour ended, and only then gets to how her new fitness book was born. But after that the real fun begins, as she teaches Fallon how to use her deck-of-cards workout system and joins him for the “Fittest of the Fit” challenge.

The challenge features three events with a grand prize of “bragging rights,” and Underwood was all in from the start. Beginning with a fun-looking cross between Twister, Dance Dance Revolution and a sprint, they then moved on to the “Bodzilla” (where one blindfolded player walks through a miniature city like Godzilla, and the other “guides” them while doing a plank), and finally came the “Huff and Puff Face-off” — which you’ll just have to see for yourself.

“That was harder than you’d think it would be,” Underwood says while catching her breath.
