Carrie Underwood and NEEDTOBREATHE made fans “Wanna Remember” their performance at the 2021 CMT Music Awards as they collaborated for their live moment on Wednesday (6/9).

The gorgeous arrangement of Underwood’s powerful soprano challenged NEEDTOBREATHE’s passionate rasp for an emotionally-gripping production that echoed throughout the Farm at Bonnaroo. The country sweetheart shined brightly, in both her silver outfit and her stunning vocals, matching the mighty lead vocalist Bear Rinehart in talent.

Their harmonizing vocals created a seamless set, wowing the crowd back in Nashville and those watching at home.

The two acts have collaborated twice in recent months. Rinehart accompanied Underwood for a song on her faith-based record My Savior. The Oklahoma native then returned the favor, singing on the track “I Wanna Remember.”

2021 proves to be a big year for both Underwood and NEEDTOBREATHE. The former will head to Vegas in December 2021 and again in 2022 for a residency show. Her REFLECTIONS: The Las Vegas Residency will take place in the brand new Resorts World Las Vegas hotel. Underwood is one of the first acts slated to perform in the new Vegas hotel, with Celine Dion, Luke Bryan and Katy Perry also on the docket. NEEDTOBREATHE will also be performing for fans later this year with a collection of dates in September and October for their Into The Mystery Tour. The band will release their album of the same name on July 30.

Other performances from country music’s only fan-voted awards show include Chris Stapleton, Luke Combs, Kane Brown, Lauren Alaina and more.

The 2021 CMT Awards, hosted by Kane Brown and Kelsea Ballerini, will air live on Wednesday, June 9 at 8 p.m. ET on CMT, MTV, MTV2, Logo, Paramount Network and TV Land. Voting is open for Video of the Year from now through Wednesday, June 9. Check out a full list of the nominees here.
