The 2018 American Music Awards lineup is shaping up to be a star-studded event with the announcement of its first round of performers. Taking the stage during the annual event will be Carrie Underwood, Imagine Dragons, Post Malone and Ty Dolla $ign (the latter of which will perform together).

Underwood’s performance announcement comes hot on the heels of her nomination for Favorite Female Artist – Country, where she’s vying for the accolade against Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris. She is previously a 12-time AMA winner.

Honorees for the American Music Awards are chosen based on fan interactions, as well as album and digital song sales, radio airplay, streaming, social activity and touring. Billboard and its data partners, including Nielsen Music and Next Big Sound, track the measurements during the time period from Sept. 15, 2017 through Aug. 9, 2018.

The show slot is just another thing added to the country powerhouse’s schedule as she prepares to add two more honors to her already treasured career. In addition to the AMAs announcement, Underwood will also participate in a ceremony for her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Furthermore, she’ll also make her mark on Oklahoma music history when she is inducted into the 2018 Oklahoma Hall of Fame class. The class of 2018 will be formally inducted during a ceremony held on Thursday, November 15 in Tulsa.

The 2018 American Music Awards air live from L.A.’s Microsoft Theater on Oct. 9 at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
