Carrie Underwood’s upcoming concert in Toronto has been postponed to accommodate the 2019 NBA Finals, according to an announcement made via social media by the city’s Scotiabank Arena.

“Due to the Toronto Raptors advancing to the NBA Finals & the technical set up requirements of the league, the Carrie Underwood concert with special guests Maddie & Tae and Runaway June scheduled for Sunday, June 9, 2019 will be rescheduled to a later date still to be announced,” reads the post, which was reposted by Underwood. “All tickets for the June 9th concert will be valid for the newly announced date.”

Underwood is not the only artist forced to change concert plans, as alt-duo Twenty One Pilots have decided to cancel the second show of a two-night stand slated for tonight (May 29th).

With the Raptors advancing to the finals for the first time in franchise history to face reigning champs the Golden State Warriors, the finals kick off at Scotiabank Arena Thursday (May 30th) – and if the series goes to five games the teams will return to Toronto on June 10th, one day after Underwood’s original concert date. Organizers are understandably betting on their hometown Raptors, but the move has upset many fans.
