Carrie Underwood Promises ‘Different Sound’ On New Album
It’s been three years since Carrie Underwood released a full-length studio album, so it’s safe to say that fans are more than ready for new music from the superstar.
Don’t worry though, you won’t have to wait too much longer to hear what the new mom has been working on. She recently opened up to Country Countdown USA about the progress she’s making on her next album, and gave a little hint as to when fans will get their first taste of new music.
“We’re off to more than a great start,” she shared. “We’ve been recording, I’ve been in the studio, I’ve laid vocals down, background vocals, there’s still a few steps to go, but it shouldn’t be too long.”
She also teased that the new project’s sound may surprise some fans.
“There’s definitely a different sound that’s coming together. I want everything to have its own space, and look different, sound different, feel different,” she explained. “So I’ve been working with another producer, as well as with Mark Bright, whom I’m always gonna love, but getting things a little different, and it’s been fun.”
“I feel things have a different sort of twang to them, kind of a rock twang,” she continued. “So there should be some things that they hopefully have liked about the music we’ve done, but also a little growth, a little bit of shift, so still things they’ve liked but new things to see, hear, and feel.”
Aside from when they can hear new music, another question fans are asking is if her baby boy Isaiah has inspired any of her new songs. The answer is yes!
“It’s impossible to not let your life affect things,” Underwood admitted. “There’s one song that will probably make it on the album that’s about my husband and our baby, it’s really sweet, and I’m happy to have that life magic happening in the room, and he’ll be able to look back at it and say ‘That’s about me!’”
