Carrie Underwood to Release First Ever Live Gospel DVD
My Savior: LIVE From The Ryman arrives July 23!
Back in April, Carrie Underwood brought her first ever gospel album to life at Nashville’s iconic Ryman Auditorium, appearing at the “Mother Church of Country Music” for one of the most spiritual performances of her career. And now fans can take that performance home.
Announcing My Savior: LIVE From The Ryman, Underwood will release her first-ever live gospel performance DVD on July 23.
Filmed during that Easter concert at the Ryman, the DVD finds a country superstar embracing her roots, and performing the tracks from her acclaimed gospel album debut — 2021’s My Savior. Each track on that set has been important to Underwood since she was a child, from “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art” to “Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus” and more. And she delivered them all at the Ryman with a special flair.
Along with Underwood’s celebrated vocal presence, the performance featured duet moments with gospel great CeCe Winans, as well as Bear Reinhart of NEEDTOBREATHE. Plus, Underwood was joined by a band that included Southern gospel and harmonica legend Buddy Greene and 10-time CMA Musician of the Year, Mac McAnally. Now fans can relive it whenever they want.
“This is an album I have always wanted to record and I’m thrilled to be able to bring these uplifting, inspirational songs to life in this special way,” Carrie Underwood says of the project.
My Savior: LIVE From The Ryman was a virtual concert performed at Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium on Easter Sunday, 2021. The event streamed globally and raised over $112,000 for Save the Children.
