Carrie Underwood Returning for ‘Sunday Night Football’

Ready for football season?! Carrie Underwood is!

The superstar announced that she will be returning to Sunday Night Football on NBC for the fourth consecutive season as the face and voice to the opening number, “Waiting All Day for Sunday Night.”

Sunday Night Football producer Fred Gaudelli revealed the news on Twitter with a photo of Underwood in the studio. The Oklahoma native also confirmed the news on Twitter, writing “Yes I am!!! Honored and excited to kick off the kick off every Sunday night!”

The 2016 NFL season kicks off Thursday, September 8, 2016 with a game between the defending Super Bowl 50 champion Denver Broncos hosting the Carolina Panthers.

Until football season kicks off, Underwood will be busy wrapping her wildly successful Storyteller Tour. She is also currently nominated for two awards at the 2016 CMT Music Awards: Video of the Year and Female Video of the Year for “Smoke Break.”
