As one of the biggest stars in country music, it can be hard for Carrie Underwood and her family to have set traditions for Thanksgiving Day. Though the country powerhouse often finds herself working on or around the holiday, there is one tradition she and her family always uphold: eating.

“We try to be together, but sometimes that doesn’t work out,” Underwood explained. “I think it’s just about we eat. I eat a lot every year on Thanksgiving. I never skip that tradition.”

Even if she misses the holiday, she luckily gets a second one, as she also celebrates Canadian Thanksgiving with her husband’s side of the family. In 2019, Underwood is thankful for her family, which grew by one in January, as well as her health.

“We had a baby earlier this year, which is crazy to think about all of the things that we’ve done and thinking about starting off this year pregnant and having a baby and all of the places that he’s already seen,” the singer shared.

She also gave thanks to her Cry Pretty 360 Tour, which wrapped in October, and all the fans who came to see her. “There’s a lot to be thankful for,” Underwood said. “God has blessed us with some incredible stuff, and hopefully we’ve done good with what we’ve been blessed with.”
