Superstar Carrie Underwood will pay tribute to the victims of the deadly Oklahoma tornadoes at the 2013 CMT Music Awards tonight with a moving performance of her latest single “See You Again.” Underwood invited 24 members of the choir from Nashville’s Christ Church to join her for the tribute.

“The choir, I’ve never done that before and they just kind of take it to a whole ethereal place,” Underwood told the Associated Press Monday evening after her rehearsal.

Viewers will be encouraged to make a donation to the American Red Cross during the performance.

The people in Oklahoma are really great,” Underwood said. “Tornado season is something that we’re all used to but you can never fully prepare for it. It takes what it wants and it knocks down what it wants and there’s nothing you can do about it except just try to be prepared. They’re just wonderful people and they’re going to rebuild and they’re going to bounce back stronger than ever.”

Fans can tune in to the 2013 CMT Music Awards TONIGHT at 8:00pm ET/PT on CMT and CMT.com.
