Cassadee Pope Thinks ‘Take You Home’ Mirrors How She Feels Right Now

“Well, the reason I decided to go with that one out of the other ones I have is it feels very relevant to where I am, not just in a relationship aspect, but just mentally being in a very confident, bold place," she told SLN.

Reflecting upon her path within the music industry, Cassadee Pope finally feels as though her song represent her mindset in her latest release, “Take You Home.”

Not worrying about the pressures from prior stress, Pope came into her own while taking the past couple years as a relaxation period. The Florida native overcame hardships and happiness alike to reach the moment where “Take You Home” felt like the best way to introduce herself to the fans that have followed her from the very beginning.

“Well, the reason I decided to go with that one out of the other ones I have is it feels very relevant to where I am, not just in a relationship aspect, but just mentally being in a very confident, bold place. I wouldn’t be afraid to say these things to a guy I have a connection with,” Pope explained to Sounds Like Nashville during a sit-down interview.

The song itself shows off her rise in self-esteem by getting straight to the point in a relationship rather than relying on beating around the bush. Cutting through any smokescreen and being blunt with emotions definitely came into play throughout the making of Pope’s new song, and she thinks the change of view for the subject at hand marks an empowering impact for female listeners to relate to.

“I remember hearing it and thinking I don’t know if I’ve ever heard a girl say that,” she said. “I think that that’s usually a guy’s perspective on things. I’ve always gravitated towards those kinds of subject matters where it feels like it should be a guy’s song and I’ve gotten demos in the past where a guy is singing it but I’m like I know I could tell this story. That’s why I gravitated towards it so much. I love this as a reintroduction into the format and just fans haven’t heard a new single from me in a few years and this is definitely the song I want them to hear first.”

Pope’s main goal with sending “Take You Home” out to listeners after a quiet stretch in her career is to open that chapter up wide and figure out where she stands in her artistic revival.

“It was definitely a standout from all the other songs. I think it also just, again, it mirrors where I am, and so I think the people that know me best knew this is the song that you want people to hear because it’s going to be cohesive with how you’re feeling and people are going to see that and the song is going to make sense and it’s just going to feel like it’s all meant to be,” said Pope.

“Take You Home” is available to listen to at this time.
