Chad Michael Murray to Star In CMT’s ‘Million Dollar Quartet’

One Tree Hill alumni Chad Michael Murray is set to take on a new role… as rock-n-roll pioneer Sam Phillips in CMT’s upcoming drama Million Dollar Quartet.

The show, based on the Broadway musical, follows Phillips, founder of Sun Records, as he gives breaks to young musicians like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Ike Turner and more. He was also known for his involvement in the civil rights movement, where he advocated for racial equality in and out of the music industry.

Murray joins Jennifer Holland (American Pie Presents: The Book of Love, American Horror Story) as she portrays Sam’s wife, Becky Phillips, and Margaret Anne Florence (Inside Amy Schumer, 30 Rock) as his assistant-turned-girlfriend, Marion Keisker.

Previously announced cast members include Drake Milligan (Elvis Presley), Kevin Fonteyne (Johnny Cash), Christian Lees (Jerry Lee Lewis) and Jonah Lees (Jimmy Swaggart).

Murray is best known for his portrayal of Lucas Scott on One Tree Hill and most recently as Jack Thompson on ABC’s Agent Carter.
