Chase Rice is gearing up for this Friday (May 15)’s release of The Album Part II, the second half and follow-up to January’s The Album Part I.

Unlike most artists that drop their albums as full-length records, Rice chose a different approach for his latest project— and intentionally so.

“The idea to release The Album in parts came from wanting to give fans new music more often, and to give each song a chance to really get the time and attention it deserves,” the singer revealed to Sounds Like Nashville. “With these smaller batches, people can really dig in and fall in love with all of the songs, and then before they know it we’re coming back with more for them to enjoy.”

One thing Rice didn’t anticipate with The Album Part II, though? Dropping it in the middle of a global pandemic.

“It’s been a little strange with the quarantine and not having live shows because we haven’t had the chance to really play Part I for the fans before releasing Part II,” he admitted. “But it just makes us that much more excited to get back on the road and share all of this great new music with them.

Last month, the North Carolina native also shared with us how he’s spending his time quarantined at home, which includes binging a particular TV show and reading a Mark Manson book.
