The importance of music education and fostering a love for the arts has never been lost on Chase Rice. The singer/songwriter first began his love affair with music when his dad gifted him with his first guitar years ago. With hopes to pass along an appreciation of music to the next generation, Rice set out to give a child the gift of music and he documented their heartwarming meeting for his “Three Chords and the Truth” music video.

Reaching out on social media, Rice eventually found 8-year-old Nicholas Thompson, a boy fighting hemophilia with injections and frequent trips to the doctor.

“I thought, we could do the same old crap that everybody’s doing, that I’ve done before, with this music video or we could do something bigger and more special and hopefully change a kid’s life and his family’s life, and that’s the route I wanted to go,” explained Rice of the story behind his Brian Lazzaro-directed video.

The more than five minute long clip follows Rice as he performs during his Lambs and Lions Tour and eventually makes his way to Morehead, KY to spend time with Nicholas. The two enjoy an afternoon together, with the 8-year-old boy eagerly soaking up the musical lesson from his mentor.

“This is the greatest day of my life,” said the young boy, promising to practice his guitar in hopes of one day pursuing music.

The “Three Chords & The Truth” clip closes with a call-to-action for fans to learn more about music education programs at CMAFoundation.org.

Chase Rice’s upcoming Lambs & Lions album is set for release on Nov. 17. The singer’s Lambs & Lions Tour will continue through Feb. 10, 2018. For more information, visit chaserice.com.
