Chris Crump and Krista Hughes Battle It Out On NBC’s ‘The Voice’

The Voice - Season 9

The second night of The Voice’s battle rounds kicked off last night. Entering the ring for their chance to stay on Team Blake Shelton was Chris Crump and Krista Hughes.

Both singers earned four chair turns during their blind auditions, so the match-up was sure to be a good one. Shelton assigned the pair to sing “When I Get Where I’m Going,” as performed by their advisor Brad Paisley and Dolly Parton. Paisley even re-wrote part of the song to help highlight Hughes’ voice.

Although Krista owned her audition, the battle got the best of her. Crump ended up owning the round, and all of the judges advised Blake to keep him around. Blake let Krista go and sadly, no one saved the country hopeful.
