Chris Hemsworth To Star In ‘I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive,’ a Film About Hank Williams’ Doctor

“I Saw The Light” isn’t the only Hank Williams film being created.

According to The Wrap, “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth is working on a movie based on Steve Earle’s novel, “I’ll Never Get Out of This World Alive,” which centers around Williams’ doctor.

The story follows Toby “Doc” Ebersole, who is haunted by Williams’ ghost after his hand in the singer’s early death in 1953. Following Williams’ passing, Ebersole’s medical license is revoked, but ten years later, is found performing illegal medical procedures in the red-light district of San Antonio, Texas to aid his morphine addiction.

Hemsworth is set to star in and produce the film, alongside Laura Bickford. Benjamin Grayson will act as screenwriter.

The actor is best known for his roles in “Thor,” “Rush,” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”
