Hit maker Chris Lane can add another notch to his belt, hitting Number One at country radio with the romantic single, “Big, Big Plans.”

Sitting atop both the Billboard Country Airplay and Country Aircheck/Mediabase Airplay charts this week, the heart-forward anthem marks Lane’s third career Number One in the U.S. — and it has plenty of special significance. Co-written by the rising star with Jacob Durrett and Ernest Keith Smith, it was penned as a tribute to his then-girlfriend, Lauren, and used in a charming proposal video that has now been viewed nearly 15 million times. The couple are now married, and the song has reportedly more than 20 onstage fan proposals since its release.

“As an artist the most rewarding thing for me is writing a song and hearing fans sing it back, and make it part of their own story as well,” shared Lane. “It’s been so much fun to see the way such a personal song for me has impacted other people over time. From proposing to my wife, to seeing others’ proposals at shows and on social media, to it now hitting #1 on Country radio is unbelievable. I couldn’t be more excited.”

“Big, Big Plans” was first released in June of 2019 and is now Gold certified, and the hit marks Lane’s first chart topper as a songwriter. Chris Lane says in a social media post that he’s currently working on new music, and he recently revealed that he and Lauren are expecting their first child.
