Chris Lane and his wife Lauren are currently awaiting the birth of their first child, a son due sometime this spring — as in just a few weeks from now. And while they are overjoyed at the prospect, there were some difficult decisions to make … like what to name him.

Based on a recent interview, it seems like Lane was probably taken off the naming committee.

Speaking with Katie Neal on Audacy’s Katie & Company, the “Big, Big Plans” hit maker shared one of his more “colorful” suggestions — one that comes with a built-in reputation.

“I threw out the name ‘Rambo,'” Lane explained. “At the time I was being super light-hearted, but at the same time I did really honestly think it was kind of cool. … Imagine when he comes up to bat and they say ‘Rambo Lane,’ that sounds like he’s about to drop a bomb! ‘Rambo Lane,’ like how his he not going to win the tournament, ya know?”

You can kind of get where he’s coming from. That’s strong name, and honestly, celebrity kids have ended up with stranger names. Unfortunately, Lane went on to admit that “Rambo” didn’t go over so well with Lauren, so the search continues.

Meanwhile, Chris Lane recently unveiled “Fill Them Boots,” the first taste of new music since 2019, and the up-tempo track has some big boots to fill. Lane used “Big, Big Plans” to propose to Lauren on camera in a heartwarming music video, and the tender track went on to become a platinum certified Number One — the first co-written chart topper of his career.
