Chris Stapleton Claims Best Country Album at 60th GRAMMY Awards

It’s official – this year’s Best Country Album, according to the Recording Academy, is Chris Stapleton’s From A Room: Volume 1.

Stapleton took home the award at Sunday night’s (1/28) 60th GRAMMY Awards celebration. Presented by actress/singer Hailee Steinfeld and New Kids on the Block’s Donnie Wahlberg, Stapleton took to the stage for an emotional speech to thank those closest to him/them.

“This is a wonderful room to be in, all these people tonight and we’re so proud… we always try to make great records as good as we can and I guess this is a testament to that. Thank you to everybody who works so hard for us and out on the road. It’s a real joy to make music,” said Stapleton after accepting the award with producer Dave Cobb.

Stapleton beat out albums from Kenny Chesney (Cosmic Hallelujah), Lady Antebellum (Heart Break), Little Big Town (The Breaker) and Thomas Rhett (Life Changes).

The win wasn’t the first for Stapleton as he also took home awards for Best Country Song with “Broken Halos” and Best Country Solo Performance for “Either Way.”
