Chris Stapleton Surprises Habitat for Humanity With $10,000 Donation

Big voiced country star Chris Stapleton has put his even-bigger heart on display, donating $10,000 to the Lexington, Kentucky chapter of Habitat for Humanity.

Stapleton is a native of the small town Paintsville in nearby Eastern Kentucky, and made the donation by surprise with his wife, Morgane.

“We were thrilled when the check came in the mail. It was completely unexpected,” CEO of Lexington’s Habitat for Humanity said in a press release. “It is beautiful when people use their resources to help others. Every dollar makes a difference and we know this gift will make a big impact on Lexington families. We are so grateful.”

Stapleton donated the money through his Outlaw State of Kind charity, which is administered by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee and supports a variety of causes that are close to Stapleton’s heart.

It’s not the first time the “Tennessee Whiskey” hitmaker has stepped up to help his childhood community. Back in 2016 he gifted $57,000 in musical instruments to Paintsville’s Johnson Central High School — where he used to attend — giving a boost the local music program with the help of Ram Trucks and ACM’s Lifting Lives program.

Stapleton will resume the next leg of his All-American Road Show Tour on July 9 with a stop in Allentown, PA. The trek will run through November with its final stop in Lexington.
