The music industry and its fans surely feels strongly toward Chris Stapleton as the country singer proved his superstar status by taking home various trophies from the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night (5/20).

Although Stapleton was probably helping out with the parenting duties for his newborn twins instead of attending the celebration in Vegas, he will add awards from categories such as Top Country Artist, Top Country Male Artist and Top Country Album for From A Room: Volume 1 to his list of achievements.

Representing the ladies of country music was Maren Morris, who was crowned Top Country Female Artist. The “Rich” singer also commanded the stage in an all-white ensemble alongside Zedd to perform their hit, “The Middle,” on television for the first time. Making the most out of her BBMA experience, Morris tweeted her happy dance when she received the news about her award with a sweet sentiment saying, “THIS DAY RULES!”

Sam Hunt also came out strong by snagging the Top Country Song prize for his smash song, “Body Like a Back Road.” The singer took the time during his speech to thank his wife for all of her selflessness over the past year, as well as the awards for providing a positive platform toward the fans supporting music all around.

Glimpses of some Nashville faces in the audience were apparent, as Brett Young attended the big night in Vegas with his fiancée and Luke Combs sat himself next to a couple hip-hop artists for the shin-dig.

Other winners from the country categories of the evening included Luke Bryan for Top Country Tour and Florida Georgia Line for Top Country Duo/Group Artist.

The Billboard Music Awards were hosted by Kelly Clarkson and aired live from Las Vegas on NBC. All winners from the ceremony can be found on the Billboard website.
