Chris Young is “angling” to catch some fish for a good cause this spring. He’ll present the 3rd Annual Th3 Legends Cast for a Cure Big Bass Tournament on a lake near Nashville June 1st.

The event will feature some of fishing’s biggest names and is also open to the public, with all proceeds benefitting the T.J. Martell Foundation – the music industry’s leading foundation to fund innovative cancer research. Young will hit the lake to see who can reel in the biggest whopper alongside fishing legends and NBC Sports Outdoors’ Th3 Legends, Bill Dance, Jimmy Houston and Roland Martin.

“My dad fought cancer and won,” Young says about hosting the event for the third year in a row. “I can’t think of any better way to give back to an organization that helps find cures for cancer than to spend the day sitting in a boat fishing with my old man.”

The tournament begins at 6 a.m. on June 1 at Sanders Ferry Park on Old Hickory Lake in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Weigh-ins for big bass will take place at the park at 9 a.m. and noon, with a free Party in the Park open to the public starting at 10 a.m. The party will feature live music, a silent auction, family-friendly activities, photo opportunities and more, and additional guests will be announced for the both the party and Big Bass Tournament in coming weeks.

Th3 Legends Cast for a Cure Big Bass Tournament was founded by famous music manager Doc McGhee, and has raised over $64,000 in just two years so far. Meanwhile, the T.J. Martell Foundation has given over $280 million dollars to flagship hospitals across the United States working on cancer research.
