On NBC’s hit show, This Is Us, Kate Pearson is working hard to become a professional singer and live out the dreams her mother once had for herself. And in the old saying that art imitates life, the actress that portrays the Pearson daughter, Chrissy Metz, also hopes to share her voice with the world.

Metz will get her moment when she performs for the first time on the 2019 ACM Awards, taking place in Las Vegas this Sunday, April 7. She will stand alongside country icon Carrie Underwood, as well as Lauren Alaina, Mickey Guyton and Maddie & Tae to perform “I’m Standing With You,” a song from the movie Breakthrough’s soundtrack.

“As an actress, you’re not always taken seriously as a singer,” Metz told The Tennessean of getting to share her voice on the soundtrack. “You can’t always cross over, whether it’s drama to comedy or an actress to musician. I can’t even believe it’s happening. I really, really can’t. It’s been a gift on top of a gift.”

She added of performing on the awards show, “It’s one of those bucket list moments you didn’t think would actually happen. Standing on stage with five incredible women who are brilliant vocalists and artists is beyond thrilling.”

Breakthrough is a feature film making its debut over the Easter holiday weekend. The movie tells the real-life story of a family’s trials and triumphs through adoption, tragedy and recovery. The soundtrack for Breakthrough includes songs from the women performing on the ACM Awards, plus Darius Rucker, Adam Hambrick, Phil Wickham, Pigeon John, Taylor Mosby and Kirk Franklin.

The film is set for release on April 17. Fans can watch Metz, Underwood, Alaina, Guyton and Maddie & Tae perform live on the ACM Awards this Sunday, April 7 at 8/7c on CBS.
