Chrissy Metz Makes Soulful ACM Awards Debut With ‘I’m Standing With You’

This is Us star Chrissy Metz made an impressive live TV singing debut with her performance of “I’m Standing With You” alongside Carrie Underwood, Lauren Alaina, Maddie & Tae and Mickey Guyton at the 2019 ACM Awards.

Metz’s performance was one of the most highly anticipated of the night, and she exuded confidence and grace throughout its entirety. “I’m Standing With You” is performed by Metz on the soundtrack of her new film Breakthrough, and she was a natural on the country stage, holding her own amongst a group of country’s powerhouse voices, who are also featured on the soundtrack.

Metz took on the first verse solo, standing center stage as a soft light illuminated around her. As she began to sing, her voice was strong and enduring, proving herself to be as an equally compelling vocalist as she is an actress. She was soon joined by Alaina, Guyton and Maddie & Tae, who demonstrated their stunning voices before Underwood helped bring the song to a close, the five singers’ voices uniting in triumph as they captured the emotion of the song.
