US Weekly confirms the musicians were married during a ceremony in Music City on Saturday (Oct. 21).
Young popped the question during a performance at the Grand Ole Opry on Dec. 5, 2015. The two musicians shared the stage together that evening, as they frequently do, when Young paused to ask the actress to marry him. Shortly after the couple’s proposal, Bowen’s brother was diagnosed with cancer and as a result, they pushed back their wedding plans to the fall as he is now in remission.
Bowen shared a photo at sunrise beside the lake on her wedding day. She captioned the picturesque view by writing, “Watching the sunrise. Wearing the blanket I was wrapped in when I was born around my shoulders. Gonna go marry my soulmate now.”
In previous interviews and social media posts Bowen confessed that she never thought she’d be one to get married.
“I never thought I’d get married, because that’s something that happened to other people. I really had no interest in it at all… Then @brandonrobertyoung turned up and turned everything upside down,” she previously wrote.
Congratulations to the newlyweds!
