Clint Black Launches His Own Brand of Dark Roasted ‘Cowboy Coffee’

Country star Clint Black has brewed up a side business that fans can enjoy every morning — and maybe a little in the afternoon, too. And whether you take yours Clint-style or with cream and sugar, it’s available now.

Making his announcement on social media, the ’90s country hit maker launched Clint Black Cowboy Coffee, a dark-roasted blend inspired by the favored drink of cowboys everywhere.

Roasted in Texas and available in ground or whole bean — with K-cups coming soon — the coffee was carefully created by Black with the intent of being “really strong without being bitter,” and born from an annual tradition.

Black has a friend in the coffee business, he explained for the camera, and started out making his own blend as holiday gifts for friends, family and team members. But their reaction was so positive, he decided to expand the brand when he “lost his day job to COVID-19.”

“It all started as a great gift idea for friends and family at Christmas time,” he said. “As the reaction turned from ‘Thanks!’ to ‘Where can I get more?’” he decided to start a real coffee company.

Packed in a white bag with simple black lettering — plus a drawing made by fellow country star Steve Wariner on the back — the coffee is available now via the brand’s website. The traditionally-flavored star went on to chat more about his coffee brand’s inspiration and even played a tune at the video’s end, sipping on a cup of Joe throughout. Or maybe we should call it a “cup of Clint”?
