CMT Music Awards Lineup Features Superstars and Big Collaborations

The first batch of performers on tap for the 2021 CMT Music Awards has been revealed, with plenty of big names taking the stage.

As always, some of country’s biggest superstars will be on hand to perform — and this year they won’t be alone. Producers are planning exciting collaborations that fall inside and out of the genre.

So far, the show’s lineup will be highlighted by a handful of the country headliners you might expect. Brothers Osborne with team up with Dierks Bentley for what’s sure to be a rowdy moment. Chris Stapleton will show off his blowtorch vocal. And Luke Combs will remind us how he’s become one of country’s brightest and most consistent hit makers. Then things get more interesting.

Maren Morris will be joined by Canadian pop star JP Saxe — likely performing their sexy new crossover, “Line By Line.” Mickey Guyton will welcome soul legend Gladys Knight. And Miranda Lambert will bring a bit of Texas to Tennessee with her rootsy collaborators from The Marfa TapesJack Ingram and Jon Randall. That’s a pretty good start, and with a few weeks left before the show’s June 9 air date, more performers will be announced soon.

Hosted by Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown, this year’s field of CMT Music Awards nominees are led by Morris and Lambert, who both come into the night with four nods. The hosts join Little Big Town and Guyton with three nominations apiece, while a full 13 artists have scored their first nomination.

The 2021 CMT Music Awards will air live on Wednesday, June 9 at 8 p.m. ET on CMT, MTV, MTV2, Logo, Paramount Network and TV Land. They represent country music’s only fan-voted award show, and voting is now open at vote.cmt.com, continuing until Tuesday, June 1st at 3PM ET/2PM CT.
