Country Artists Embark On USO Tour

Country Artist and USO Tour Veteran Keni Thomas, along with fellow artists Emily West, Buddy Jewell and Alana Grace, will join Sergeant Major of the Army Kenneth Preston as part of the annual “2010 Hope and Freedom USO Tour.” Also sharing the spirit of the holidays on the tour is comedian/author Chonda Pierce; America’s sweethearts The Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders; and host of NBC’s “Poker After Dark,” Leeann Tweeden. Designed as a variety show, the 11-day tour, which commences this week, will deliver a much-needed break to troops during the holiday season.

Last year, the Sergeant Major of the Army USO holiday tour touched more than 8,000 troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. This is Thomas’s sixth consecutive “Hope and Freedom USO Tour.” Together with Leeann Tweeden, Thomas has collectively entertained more than 125,000 service men and women and their families over the years. This trip is the first USO tour for Jewell, West and Pierce.
