Katharine McPhee and Eddie Cibrian are set to star in a new country-lifestyle comedy series titled Country Comfort, with 10 episodes coming to streaming giant Netflix.

According to reports and show notes, Country Comfort will tell the story of a down-on-her-luck singer named Bailey (McPhee) who takes a job as a nanny to the five children of a “rugged cowboy” named Beau (Cibrian). Although new to caring for children, Bailey soon finds her footing and becomes a mother figure to the kids — and in turn, she ends up with the country band she was missing, courtesy of the musically inclined family.

Ricardo Hurtado, Jamie Martin Mann, Pyper Braun, Shiloh Verrico, and Griffin McIntyre will play the family’s children, and The Nanny executive producer Caryn Lucas serves as Country Comfort’s creator, executive producer and showrunner. Kelly Park of Family Reunion and Alexa & Katie will direct the comedy, and so far there’s no word on when the show will premiere.

McPhee finished Season 5 of American Idol as the runner up to Taylor Hicks and has since released five albums while starring in shows like CBS’ Scorpion, and Cibrian has been featured in many TV roles — most recently on the ABC series Take Two. He is also married to country singer LeAnn Rimes.
