Country Stars Celebrate Independence Day

Fireworks and patriotism were aplenty on Tuesday, July 4 as the United States celebrated its 241st year of Independence. The day was full of red, white and blue-themed celebrations with many country stars taking part in the festivities.

Acts including RaeLynn, Hunter Hayes and Maddie & Tae spent the evening playing shows for the U.S. Armed Forces, something RaeLynn was thrilled to do.

“I love Fourth of July, but I always have a show. I’m playing at Fort Campbell, which I’m excited about. I’m playing on a military base and it’s gonna be bad-ass. I’m pumped. A couple years ago, they had Carrie Underwood headlining and I was like, ‘Are you sure you want me to headline it?’ I don’t know if I can bring up that many people, but I’m gonna try. I’m excited,” RaeLynn told Sounds Like Nashville during an interview recently.

Others, like Thomas Rhett, Kelsea Ballerini, Hillary Scott and Jana Kramer, enjoyed spending a night off with the ones they love. Rhett was surrounded by his family and embraced his daughter Willa’s first Fourth of July in the states after arriving from Uganda.
