Early Thursday morning, announcements rolled out with the names of those country stars nominated for the 52nd Academy of Country Music Awards. Leading the pack with the most nominations was Keith Urban, who earned a total of seven nods from Academy voters. The news came as a shock to Urban, who has spent his entire career making music that both he and his fans are proud of.
“I’ve been a musician since I was 6 years old,” Urban said in a statement. “I just love writing songs, making records and touring. So for the ACMS’s to recognize RIPCORD in such a big way today is humbling. I share these nominations with everyone in my life who made it possible – and a BIG shout out to all of our fans, who came out to see us on the ripCORD tour. Can’t wait to play for you all again soon.”
Not far behind in the nominations with six were country music ladies Miranda Lambert and Maren Morris. Among the recognition were first-time nominees Lauren Alaina and Brett Young. Alaina found out the news while in the airport and posted an adorbale reaction video of the tears pouring down her face.
Urban and Alaina aren’t the only stars to have spoken out following the exciting announcement this morning. Check out more reactions from your favorite country stars below.
