Andy Griffith had incredible influence on our culture throughout the many years of his career. ‘The Andy Griffith Show’ and ‘Matlock’ star impacted many people’s lives, including a number of country music stars.
One of the most touching statements came from Brad Paisley. Paisley’s first choice to appear in his music video for “Waitin’ on a Woman” was Griffith, and the video won them the 2008 CMA Award for Music Video of the Year.
“Few people in this world will ever have more influence on our lives than Andy Griffith. An actor who never looked like he was acting, a moral compass who saved as many souls as most preachers, and an entertainer who put smiles on more faces than almost anyone; this was as successful a life as is pretty much possible. Andy Griffith made the world a better place, and I was so proud to call him a friend.” – Brad Paisley in a personal statement
