Less than two weeks after a shooting took place within a Waffle House in Nashville, TN, the city is once again on edge from a shooting at the Opry Mills Mall. Close to 2:30 p.m. CST on Thursday (5/3), shots were reported from within the mall located just next to the Grand Ole Opry House following an alleged dispute between customers.

Presently, one person has been taken to Skyline Medical Center in critical condition with Metro Police reporting that a suspect is currently in custody.

As news began to circulate, several country stars took to Twitter to encourage change and offer support to the city they call home.

“I’m just gutted. Nashville whyyyyy,” wrote singer Meghan Linsey, with Mickey Guyton adding “The violence has got to stop. Praying for Nashville.”

Linsey also shared that she had two friends at the mall during the attack and that they were evacuated from the theater from armed police officers.

“2 of my friends were at the mall seeing a movie. I just got off of the phone with them. They said the movie stopped and several cops with big guns ran in and told them to evacuate. My God,” she wrote.

As of the publication of this story, Metro Nashville Police tweeted that the shooting allegedly had been the result of a dispute between two males. The suspected gunman reportedly left the mall building and immediately surrendered.

This is a developing story.
