The Smashville spirit will forever stay with the fans of the Predators, even after their tough loss in game six of the Stanley Cup Final on Sunday night (6/11).
After a grueling series with the Nashville Predators dueling the Pittsburgh Penguins for the almighty NHL title, the Penguins defeated the Preds in a 2-0 result. Nevertheless, it didn’t stop the Fang Fingers from being held high in the sold-out Bridgestone Arena crowd as well as outside flooding the streets of downtown with the end of CMA Fest coinciding just in time.
Some of the biggest country stars took the night off from the festival to catch the game live on the ice while others popped across the bridge before their nightly CMA Fest sets to start the chants and throw the catfish onto the ice (we see you, Brad Paisley). With festivities in full swing on both sides of the river, it was definitely a massive night for Music City even though the Preds went home empty-handed.
Capturing the thrill of it all via social media, those in attendance showed off the sea of gold within the walls of Bridgestone and proved Nashville has become a hockey town.
