Country Stars Show Support For McCain/Palin

We’re not too sure how we feel about celebrities displaying their political views, but so far many country artists seem to be doing so…

John Rich has already shown his support for Senator John McCain by writing a song for the campaign called “Raising McCain.” Recently, more country artists are doing the same.

Hank Williams Jr recently showed his support by singing remixed version of his “Family Tradition” called “McCain/Palin Tradition” at a McCain/Palin rally. Here’s a video of Hank at the rally….

This past week, Aaron Tippin stopped on their campaign trail as well in Johnstown, PA.

Plus, Gretchen Wilson is set to appear tomorrow with Alaska’s Governor Sarah Palin in Asheville, NC.

On side note, Trace Adkins made his views on gay marriage very clear at a concert in Massachusetts on Thursday night.

“Since we are in Massachusetts, we can just get married before before we go home,” he said, in a joking tone and then adding in a serious tone, “That shit ain’t right, you know.” (The crowd responded with applause.)

Trace quickly added, “You can do whatever you want.”

(Massachusetts is the first state in the U.S. to legalize gay marriage.)

We’re pretty sure we know which side he stands on after that comment…

What do you think? Do you think they should keep their political views to themselves?
