Country Stars to Make Special Appearances on September 4 MDA Labor Day Telethon

The Muscular Dystrophy Association recently announced the talent roster for its 2011 MDA Labor Day Telethon, with still more top acts expected to confirm their performances between now and the show’s primetime broadcast on Sunday, September 4.

Lady Antebellum, Darius Rucker and Martina McBride are among the entertainment icons who are set to make special appearances on the MDA Labor Day Telethon. Lady A, Rucker, and McBride’s performances for the telethon were taped at the Grand Ole Opry in June.

Other celebrities set to appear include Celine Dion, Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson.

“Songs and appeals by these outstanding artists, as well as extraordinary Penn & Teller magic and so much more, undoubtedly will captivate tens of millions of viewers,” said long-time Telethon Producer Lee Miller. “Then, when America sees and hears from remarkable families served by MDA, people once again will find it near impossible to not respond generously.”

The telethon, which used to run nearly 22 hours, will air this year from 6pm to midnight EST and run on tape delay in other times zones during the same time slot.
