Over the past year, Courtney Cole has experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows and she’s documenting every emotion along the way.

Calling the short clips, Courtney Cole: The Rockumentary, the singer-songwriter shows pieces of her day-to-day struggle to scrape by in the difficult industry of country music. Once opening up for names like Miranda Lambert and Kenny Chesney, Cole now finds herself making ends meet by way of Uber driving and negotiation meetings. While it’s not the life she pictured just months ago, Cole fights every day to keep strong and not give up on her dream.

Cole even opens up about the emotional tolls of a devastating breakup and the consequences of parting ways with her management team in this raw look into her daily life as she fights to hold onto her career for dear life. Using her songwriting friends as a form of therapy, Cole never loses sight of the music that creates a sense of comfort and allows her to believe in herself whenever times get tough.

“I wish I could tell you that I handled all of this loss like a champ, but, to be honest, I didn’t,” Cole narrated in the video. “I spent a lot of days in my bed, crying, wishing things would have turned out different and thinking that the universe was playing one big joke on me, but I realized very quickly that that was getting me nowhere.”

In the end, Cole decides to ‘leave these tears in Nashville’ and head out to the West Coast for a clean slate and a city of opportunities. While she’ll continue her story under the summer sunshine on the Golden Coast, she’ll never forget what Music City taught her about her abilities and herself.

“For 12 years, I’ve been writing my song here in Nashville. I’ve put a lot of pressure on this town to meet my expectations, and in a lot of ways, it’s exceeded them. But in a lot of ways, I’ve been really disappointed. And with everything that’s been happening over the last few weeks, I feel myself shifting and changing. I feel myself wanting more than I’ve been allowing myself to have,” she admitted.
