Craig Morgan Surprises Disabled Veteran With Mortgage-Free Home
Ferguson, a 20-year member of the military, was injured when his vehicle was exploded by an IED-similar device.
As an Army veteran, Craig Morgan has always made it a point to give back to his fellow comrades. In the case of U.S. Army SFC Josh Ferguson, Morgan did just that.
Ferguson, a 20-year member of the military, was injured when his vehicle was exploded by an IED-similar device. He sustained injuries that left him with an above the knee amputation, shrapnel pitted over his body, a surgically repaired leg, deteriorated hips, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and more.
After recovering from his physical changes at the Walter Reed Medical Center, he went on to serve with the Wounded Warrior Brigade in order to continue his service to the United States. Since then, he’s been awarded with several medals, including a Purple Heart, Combat Action Badge, GWOT Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, among others.

To honor his unwavering service and dedication, Morgan teamed up with his longtime partners from Operation FINALLY HOME to award Ferguson and his family with a custom-built, mortgage-free home in Dickson County, Tennessee.
“Josh and his family represent the true heroes of this country,” Morgan said in a press release. “I am proud to be part of Operation FINALLY HOME and thanks to the community in Dickson County, we are able to build my buddy, Josh, and his family a home that they so deserve.”
“What a blessing to be able to be at the Grand Ole Opry with Craig Morgan and surprise U.S. Army SFC Josh Ferguson and his family with the news that we are working together to provide them with a mortgage-free home in Dickson County, Tennessee,” Rusty Carroll, Operation FINALLY HOME Executive Director added. “Josh has paid a hefty price protecting our country and we are honored to provide him a home.”
Morgan and Operation FINALLY HOME shared their exciting news with the family during an appearance on the Grand Ole Opry stage on Friday, Feb. 23. Joined by his wife, Danny, and their three children, Ferguson learned that construction on his new home would break ground later this year.
