Dan + Shay performed their latest single, “I Should Probably Go To Bed,” at the 2020 CMT Awards on Wednesday, October 21. This year’s performances are taking place from various locations around Middle Tennessee, and Dan + Shay performed from The Estate At Cherokee Dock in Wilson County, Tennessee.

At the beginning of their performance, the duo’s Dan Smyers was seen sitting outside at his piano playing the intro of the song. The camera then switched to duo member Shay Mooney, who sang the first verse while laying on a real bed, complete with end tables and other furniture, outside. The singer continued singing the tune while Smyers provided accompaniment and harmony. Later in the song, Mooney stood up and started walking down a roadway at The Estate while still singing the song’s lyrics about a man who sees his ex out at a bar.

He soon returned to where Smyers was playing piano, and the duo belted out the rest of the song as colored spotlights danced all around them. A camera above the duo showed the lights flashing all around the property, while the duo’s band played close behind them through fog.

Dan + Shay performed as early winners in the show. The duo took home the award for Duo Video for their “I Should Probably Go To Bed” video. They were nominated alongside Brothers Osborne, Florida Georgia Line, Locash, and Maddie & Tae. They were also nominated for Collaborative Video of the Year for their “10,000 Hours” video with Justin Bieber.

The 2020 CMT Music Awards air Wednesday, October 21st at 8:00PM ET/7:00PM CT on CMT, MTV, MTV2, Logo, Paramount Network, Pop and TV Land.
