Dan + Shay Announce Arena Tour Restart, Tease New Album News
Great news all around!
Grammy winning country duo Dan + Shay are set to re-ignite their milestone headlining tour, revealing the rescheduled dates and cities of Dan + Shay The (Arena) Tour — but that may not be the only big news. While making the announcement, they also left a tantalizing clue about new music.
Kicking off September 9 in Greenville, South Carolina, the long-awaited (Arena) Tour restart will pack massive venues around the nation, ending December 7 in Boston, Massachusetts. Along the way, the hit-making duo will hit more than 30 cities, joined by alternative pop rockers The Band CAMINO and breakout-country sensation Ingrid Andress. But as good as that news is, Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney also hinted at more, spelling out the word “album” inside an Instagram post.
“nothing makes us hAppier than being abLe to say that the (arena) tour is OFFICIALLY happening and kicks off septemBer 9th in greenville, sc,” the duo wrote, using capitalized letters to reveal their secret message. “also excited to annoUnce the we have added los angeles (staples center) + san diego (pechanga arena) to the tour. pre-sale for these shows starts today at 10 am local time (code: arena), and all other tickets on sale now. froM the bottom of our hearts, thank y’all so much for being patient with us on all of this. we’ve missed y’all more than you know, and promise it will be so worth the wait. trust us. comment which show(s) we’ll see you at! we’ve literally never been more excited for anything in our entire lives.”
There’s no official word on when Dan + Shay plan to announce their upcoming fourth album, but perhaps this Easter egg means they’ll do so soon. The hit makers have already released three singles since their last album, with “10,000 Hours” (featuring Justin Bieber), “I Should Probably Go to Bed” and “Glad You Exist” making waves with fans.
Back on the topic of The (Arena) Tour, the live-concert run is largely rescheduled from postponed 2020 dates. The (Arena) Tour officially kicked off in March of 2020 and marked Dan + Shay’s first career headlining tour, but was put on hold for the COVID-19 pandemic. Two new shows have been added to the 2021 restart, however, with the addition of October dates in Los Angeles and San Diego. Pre-sale tickets for the new dates begin today (May 10) at 10 a.m. PT, with a general on-sale starting Friday (May 14) at 10 a.m. PT. All tickets purchased for the 2020 dates will be honored at the new, rescheduled shows.
