“‘Cause baby this is Target, Target, and Target targets you."
Dan + Shay performed at an event hosted by the Motion Picture and Television Fund over Oscars weekend, and during the show, Shay sang a hilarious and relatable little tune about the store, Target.
“You don’t just go in there and say I think I need a few things, ‘cause you’re gonna walk out with a whole lot of things, it tells you what you want,” Shay sings. “‘Cause baby this is Target, Target, and Target targets you.”

Target was a sponsor of the event, which was the apparent reason for the tune. The duo posted the video on Instagram, writing, “this is not an ad, just an impromptu challenge presented by the fine folks at @target, during our performance at the @mptf oscars event. but who knows, hopefully it turns into an ad.”
Dan + Shay have had a busy few weeks. They performed at the Oscars event this past weekend, sang at the Super Bowl in Miami on Feb. 3, and attended the Grammys in Los Angeles on January 26. The two will kick off The (Arena) Tour with two nights at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on March 6 and 7. The first leg of the tour runs through April 18 with opening acts The Band Camino and Ingrid Andress.
